If you use Firefox as your default browser, there is an extension that can be installed in it known as NoScript. NoScript provides extra protection for your Mozilla/Firefox browser. This extension allows JavaScript and Java execution only for trusted domains of your choice. This whitelist based pre-emptive script blocking approach prevents exploitation of security vulnerabilities (known and not known yet) with no loss of functionality
- Enable JavaScript/Java execution for sites you trust with a simple left-click on the NoScript status bar icon (look at the screenshot) or by using the contextual menu for easier operation in the popup status bar-less windows.
