Windows Mobile 6 free download

Screenshots of the next version of Windows Mobile may have been leaked to French web site Le Journal du Geek. It's not clear if these pictures are supposed to be screenshots of Crossbow (an update to Windows Mobile 5) or Photon (Windows Mobile 6).

Aside from the pictures, the leak also suggests that we will see improvements in the area of VGA graphics as well as a new icon set.

If these pictures and details are real and not some hoax, we could see a new Windows Mobile version in early 2007 (again, according to the source of the pictures).

DISABLE PASSWORD CACHING

To disable password caching, which allows for the single Network login and eliminates the secondary Windows logon screen. Either use the same password or:

1. Open RegEdit

2. Go to the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE \Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Policies\ Network

3. Add a Dword value "DisablePwdCaching" and set the value to 1

ADDING EXPLORE FROM HERE TO ALL FILES

When you want to right click on any folder and want to open up an Explorer window of that folder.

1. Open RegEdit
2. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell
3. Add a new Key "RootExplore " under the "Shell" Key
4. Set the (Default) value to "E&xplore From Here "
5. Right Click the "RootExplore " Key and add a new Key "Command"to the RootExplore
6. Set the (Default) value of Explorer.exe /e,/root,/idlist,%i

ADD/REMOVE SOUND EVENTS IN CONTROL PANEL

You can Add and delete sounds events in the Control Panel. In order to do that:

1. Open RegEdit

2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Eventlabels. If this key does not exist you can create it and add events.

3. You can add/delete any items you want to or delete the ones you no longer want.

Swap out the defaults

In XP, your favorite programs are displayed in the top left column of the Start menu. Microsoft starts you off with Internet Explorer and Outlook Express.


Want to display a different set of applications in this spot? Right-click an empty portion of the Start menu's left column and select Properties > Start Menu > Customize. At the bottom, deselect the program you no longer want displayed in the "Show on the Start menu" dialog, and, using Windows Explorer or My Computer, navigate to the program you want instead. Right-click the program and select "Pin to Start menu." To rename the new shortcut, right-click it and select Rename. Note: You can't pin files, just programs

Dial-Back with Windows95

Some servers use dial-back as a security feature. How this works is that after you connect to the serverit automatically dials you back for verification.

To get Windows95 to hang up the phone and not end the PPP client:


01. Open the Control Panel

02. Double Click on the Modems icon

03. Select your modem

04. Click on the Properties button

05. Select Connection tab

06. Click on the Advanced tab

07. In the Extra Settings area enter &C0 S0=1 - They are zeros not "o's"

The S0=1 sets your modem for Auto-Answer after 1 ringThe &C0 avoids ending the PPP client.
